Walking the Conservative Talk!

The Night Before November Elections

By Kimberly Morin (Conservativeind)

‘Twas the Night before November Elections
Progressives took a few moments of reflection
They tried as they might, to demonize the Right
Because Americans & Tea Parties had finally seen the light

Those racists, those bigots, those xenophobic fascists
Those haters and liars to whom the truth really matters
We’ve tried and we’ve lied and we’ve lied and we’ve lied
To paint the Tea Party as a nothing more than shills with corporate ties

We’ve bashed them, we’ve taunted them, we’ve provided no proof
Obama, Pelosi and Lewis to boot
Alinsky tactics we have studied and studied and studied
To make the truth about the Tea Party become even more muddied

Those racists, those bigots, those xenophobic fascists
Those ‘Uncle Tom’ Conservatives who bow to their ‘masters’
They think for themselves, they ignore the collective
They disprove the lies by the progressives we’ve elected

We’ve infiltrated their parties, we even made racist signs
We’ve had SEIU members beat them and get out of line
The Main Stream media is in our back pocket you see
Yet Americans continue to fight for what is right with glee

Those Grandmas and Soccer Moms, doctors and plumbers
Those lawyers and students, they keep increasing in numbers
All the work we have done to make the Tea Party look bad
Just seems to make us progressives look pathetically ‘mad’

We whine and we whine and we whine and we whine
Yet take millions of dollars from Soros and the tax payers dime
Media Matters, OFA, Unions and ACORN are ours
They spend plenty of our money, lie and cheat for hours upon hours

Those racists, those bigots, those xenophobic fascists
Our lies fall on deaf ears, we don’t appeal to the masses
It makes sense to cut spending and not increase taxes
But that will put us progressives out on our collective asses

BREAKING! Is #DCTwister on the lam from the EZ Pass Police?

By: Teri Peters (hipEchik)

I received an email from Tina this morning that read : ” 1st incident… fooken EZ pass didn’t work! #ticket #dctwisters

” HUH? I live in California. We all drive. I figure this is a train pass or something and envision Tina hopping the turn style and out running the train cops. This does not exactly fit with Tina’s M.O. though so I return email.

“Dude, you have to speak ‘WEST COAST” to me! What’s an EZ Pass? For the train? What did you do?”

Her response  “Ez pass for toll booths… Didnt register… No other way to pay. No idea if it took or if my driver/gf is gonna get a ticket! My pass tho, so I’ll be paying!

“HUH”? Did #DCTwister Tina get off the expressway or whatever “freeways” are called on the East Coast? Apparently so! @0402sgrl just tweeted ” My driver today is over cautious, but I guess that’s better than fearing for my life. #dctwisters

I can see that this East/West coast translation is going to be a challenge. Will update if Tina ends up in the pokey as I have NO idea how severe the consequences of a null EZ pass is. The good news is that her driver is ultra cautious.

“DRIVER”?

A Reminder That Every Vote Counts!

Photo Finish in Michigan’s 1st Congressional District.  Dr. Dan Benishek wins by 1 vote. Twister Teri (@hipEchik) gets a hat tip from Ed Morrissey for calling this to his attention.

Update : As of August 7, 2010 Dr. Benishek is up by 14 votes.  A recount is pending.  We will continue to assist Dr. Benishek in any way we can.

Georgia Returns Two Twisters Winners!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Last night’s Georgia primary returned two big wins for candidates The Twisters endorse.

Liz Carter handily took the win without need for a runoff  in Georgia’s 4th District. Up against a field of three other candidates, Liz went to her celebration party with 54% of the vote and the hopes of millions of Americans that she can take out Hank “Guam might tip!!” Johnson in the General Election.

Tom Graves, who just recently won a special election on May 11th for Georgia’s 9th District, took last night’s primary with 49% of the vote and will face a runoff against Lee Hawkins.

Both candidates are signers of the Contract from America.

Congratulations to Big Wins!

Last night was a big night across the country for some key races, some of which went quietly into the blogosphere and others that caused reverberations that will leave both Democrats and Republicans feeling the pressure that November is bringing…and with it, fall winds of change. Real change.

Signers of The Contract from America, with whom The Twisters are Coalition Partners, won key elections in three states and four races:

North Carolina: Bill Randall won the District 13 runoff against Bernie Reeves with almost 60% of the vote. While The Twisters didn’t get a chance to review Mr. Randall prior to the runoff, we will be keeping an eye on his campaign as he attempts to unseat incumbent Brad Miller.

South Carolina: Tim Scott, running in District 01 against Paul Thurmond, son of Strom Thurmond, walked off with 68% of the vote in this mandatory primary runoff.

Also taking home a big win in SC was Jeff Duncan out of District 03. Jeff faced primary challenger Richard Cash and came away with nearly 52% of the vote.

Utah: With all eyes of the nation on the dirty politics that seemed to permeate this election, Mike Lee trumped Tim Bridgewater’s run at the Utah Senate with 51% of the vote in what turned out to be a nail-biter of an election night.

The Twisters would like to congratulate all of these candidates on running clean campaigns and sticking with the principals of The Contract. Keep up the great work and we’re behind you!

November’s so bright, we’re all gonna have to wear shades!

Beginning Monday, May 31st, The Twisters will begin a week-long campaign in preparation for Super Tuesday, June 8th, when ten states will have hotly contested races for Senate and Congressional seats.

Contract from America

Of those ten states, five have candidates who have signed the Contract from America – the ultimate qualification for being endorsed by The Twisters:

California
Nevada
New Jersey
South Carolina
Virginia

Stay tuned as we break the dam and help the money flow to the candidates who will be listed on the state pages, set to debut Monday night!

Chuck Devore Money Bomb!

The Twisters know that Chuck DeVore is the right man for the job. His strong stand on a Constitutionally limited government, his dedication to cutting taxes and spending, and his service to his country put him way ahead of his competition, and make him the absolute best choice in replacing Barbara Boxer!

Chuck DeVore is a common sense conservative candidate for United States Senate in 2010 against Barbara Boxer.

Chuck DeVore believes government’s most important role is to secure our rights.  This was the Founders’ view of government too.  Bigger government encroaches on our liberty.

Chuck has a strong voting record fighting for increased domestic energy production and he has strongly opposes Barbara Boxer’s Cap & Trade energy tax scheme.

Chuck is a strong defender of family values and has the voting record to show for it.

Assemblyman DeVore is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army retired Reserve. He also worked as a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon. Chuck supports a strong military and defense for our country.

Chuck supports strong controls on our borders and considers this issue to be of vital national importance.

Former Representative Tancredo said, “Throughout my entire public career, I fought for core conservative values: the defense of our national sovereignty, the securing of our borders, the protection of the unborn, and a sound foreign policy. I endorse Chuck DeVore now because he is the only candidate running for U.S. Senate in California who we can trust on all these issues.”

“Chuck DeVore is a proven conservative lawmaker and a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve. He has a strong record of fighting against big government and higher taxes.” ~ Representative Michele Bachmann
