Gunny Nick Popaditch, candidate for Congress in the California 51st is in New York all day and is not wasting a New York minute!

Nick starts off his day on the Dennis Miller radio show.  It just so happens that Nick and Dennis are in New York at the same time.  You can catch Nick live online here : http://tinyurl.com/267ufr7 ! The show runs from 7-10 a.m. Pacific Time and Nick is expected to be on in the 9:00 hour.  Other guests include the GOP Whip, Eric Cantor;  California Congressman and Chief Deputy Republican Whip in the House, Kevin McCarthy; Actress Megyn Price and the forever young Jack Lalanne! You can call the show at             866-509-7268

Next, Nick will be on the John Batchelor Radio Program live from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time. John Batchelor is on WABC but streams from several affiliates. I am verifying the ” listen live”  link and will update this post before airtime!

Last but not least, Nick will once again appear on Fox’s Redeye Program.  He will be in studio for the entire show!  I know who the other guests are but I dare not post it until @RedeyeFNC does !  Trust me, this is going to be a blast!  I know my  twitter friends are going to love this man as much as I do and I am counting on you to help me elect the Gunny!   In case you have not heard, he is running in MY home district, the California 51st, so this one, is personal! I will be out there tweeting Redeye with the usual suspects, but if you cannot stay up until 12:00 Pacific Time, Please record this show! A note to the die-hards: I know how much you hate being interrupted with pesky plea’s for money during the show so, please donate early and often! I am not beyond money bombing DURING Redeye, as wrong as I know this is!

All elections are National and this is an important district! I have linked  prior posts on Nick Popaditch below with much pertinent data but here is one telling example of the importance of this race. The California 51st Congressional district has the longest stretch of the California, Mexico border of any district in the U.S. and the incumbent, Bob Filner, voted NO on the border fence!

Please tune in to one, or all of the above shows, read the prior posts on Nick Popaditch, tweet me @hipEchik for any additional information and help me FLIP THIS HOUSE by donating to the Popaditch campaign.  I know as well as anyone how difficult this economy is, but every little bit helps. Even if you can only give a few dollars, please do!   Let’s elect the Gunny!  Thank you!

An Easy Way to Guard for Voter Fraud

Voter fraud is a huge issue facing us. For decades, voter fraud has been a staple of democratic politics. Lyndon Johnson was the master of it in Texas, as was the Dailey machine in Chicago. Al Franken is a United States Senator today because of voter fraud. The left has done its best to make voter fraud possible, from the Clinton era Motor Voter law, to opposing requirements that a photo ID be presented when someone wants to vote, to advocacy groups such as ACORN that specialized in fraudulent voter registrations.

There is a group in Texas that has figured out a great way to stop this.

Two weeks ago, I was in Houston, for Vision America’s gala dinner and I met Catherine Englebrecht. Her group is called True the Vote. She explained the concept to me. It is simple, effective and, most importantly, easily duplicatable.

Her group goes to the election commission and gets a download of all of the voter registration records (which are public records). They then compare voter registrations to the number of registered voters at an address. Their cut off is six. If there are six or less voters at an address, they ignore the address. Their research found addresses with hundreds of registered voters. They found other voters whose home address was a Jack In The Box fast food outlet.

They have presented their evidence, not only to the Harris County (Houston) Election Commission, but also the District Attorney’s office.

This is a great, simple idea that can be replicated through out the country.

The will of the people means nothing to the left, especially when they can steal an election. These elections this fall and in 2012 are too important to allow voter fraud to occur. Talk to your local Tea Party group and consider starting a similar project in your hometown.

You can see what True the Vote is doing at their website. http://www.truethevote.org/

Interview with Sean Bielat – the man who can retire Barney Frank

I was very excited to have the opportunity yesterday to interview Sean Bielat, Republican U.S. Congressional Candidate running in the 4th District of Massachusetts against long time corruptocrat, Democrat Barney Frank. Before I had a chance to publish my interview, some interesting news came out today showing that Barney Frank is polling at under 50% in his district. Sean Bielat is polling at only 10 points behind him. For reference, at the same time in the campaign of Brown vs. Coakley last year, Brown was trailing by 20 points or more.

Background Information(from www.retirebarney.com): Sean is a Major in the U.S Marine Corps Reserve. He is an Independent Consultant and helps client companies build market strategies. As a Program Manager at iRobot Corporation, Sean led a $100 million, 100 person business line providing life-saving defense robots used to destroy roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sean is also the Chairman of NATO Industrial Armaments Group and led an international team studying the potential for use of advanced reconnaissance technology in urban warfare.

Sean holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where he earned a Master in Public Policy. Sean also is an M.B.A from the Wharton school of Business. Sean and his wife Hope just recently had their first child, Theo. They reside in Brookline.

The Interview:

In case you aren’t familiar with the 4th District in Massachusetts, it is made up of cities and towns from Brookline to Fall River. Brookline is a big college town – lots of students and professors while New Bedford is more blue collar with a big fishing industry (what’s left of it thanks to the NOAA) and of course there is everyone in between. I wanted to know what makes Sean an attractive candidate for the various constituents that he would be working for:

Sean Bielat:Being a representative is about listening. You can listen to anyone. You don’t have to have a similar background to listen and hear what is being said. I come from a middle class background just like many people in the district. I am in the Marine Corps which is a very hard working environment. I’ve spent time doing construction and have gotten my hands dirty. Fishermen are good people who are hard working, salt of the Earth people who make the economy go. On the other hand, I also had the opportunity to attend great academic institutions. A Representative is about listening to the people from across the entire district.”

Bielat clearly has a better grasp on what it means to be a Representative for all people across his district compared to Frank. Frank has an obvious disdain and elitist attitude any time he has been forced into having a Town Hall meeting. Bielat has proven over and over again that he truly does listen and actually cares about the people he would represent.

I asked Sean how his Marine Corps and business experience would benefit the people in the 4th District and the country as a whole:

Sean Bielat: “Only 20% of Congress has military experience and they are charged with military discretionary funding and funding in general. Iran and China are important issues as well, experience with military establishment is very important in making these decisions. I have that experience. As a businessman, I believe it is a lot easier to understand what works and what doesn’t work for the economy if you have experience dealing with the economy. At iRobot I had to make sure things were working right or people would have lost jobs. An Administration or Congress that haven’t worked in the private sector or haven’t worked in it in a long time, forget or don’t know what challenges there are in a business.”

What a concept – a man who has both military and business experience who can make decisions based on those actual real life experiences as opposed to the majority in Congress (or Barney Frank) who sit in their ‘Ivory Towers’ looking down on the little people telling us what is best for our lives.

I often hear Democrats in various races across the country literally whining that people outside of the race are involved in trying to get the best candidate elected. Since every Congressman’s vote affects every single one of us, not just his/her district, I asked Sean if he felt that Congressmen should be held accountable by not only their constituents but the entire country as well:

Sean Bielat: “Yes and the reason is that the problems we are experiencing in the 4th district are national problems caused by individual votes of members in Congress. You can’t pretend away the importance by focusing away issues that affect the entire country. The number one job of a Congressman is to listen to the people of his/her district. The number one role as a Legislator is to think of what is best for the entire country.”

This is something that Americans and obviously Congressmen don’t seem to think about. When they make laws in Congress, they don’t only affect certain districts, they affect the entire country. When Congressmen get pork for their districts, only their district benefits but the entire country pays for it. These things need to change and only Americans paying attention to all races can make that happen.

The race to ‘Retire Barney’ has been picking up steam over the past several weeks and Sean’s campaign has garnered National Attention from Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, bloggers across the country and even Bill Clinton apparently. I asked Sean why he thought this was and what he thought of Clinton coming to stump for Barney:

Sean Bielat: “Barney Frank is one of the chief architects of the financial disaster. He’s a leader in Congress and people are not happy with him. He’s been on the wrong side of too many issues and nationally people see getting rid of him as a good move. We’ve mounted a credible campaign. We’re getting things done and we’re getting them done right. We are the campaign that can do it (retire Barney). The fact that Clinton is coming to campaign for Frank tells us what he thinks about our campaign and that we are viable. Clinton has given a limited amount of days that he promised to campaign for the DNC and with all the races across the country, they decide to send him here? Frank says it’s business as usual but that isn’t true. The last time someone campaigned for Frank was back in the 80s.”

Interesting indeed. I wonder why they didn’t send Obama?

Finally I asked Sean how he has found his supporters to be both nationally and locally – are they excited? What is the general feeling?

Sean Bielat: “There are always different people in the office. During weekdays there are people making calls constantly. The phones are going strong even on a Tuesday afternoon. People want to make calls nationally from across the country. We’ve been overwhelmed with small dollar donations and the messages from people are fantastic; they tell us that Frank needs to be replaced and they are worried about their children. People from all over sending their prayers. It’s been amazing.”

Amazing indeed…

If you’d like more information on Sean Bielat you can visit his site: www.retirebarney.com

Clinton will be coming to campaign for Frank on September 26th. The Bielat campaign is holding a rally on the Historic Taunton Green from 2-4pm.

Women of Courage

‘Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.’

This is the  story of our Mothers and Grandmothers who lived only 90 years  ago.

Remember,  it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.

The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless
for picketing the White House, carrying signs  asking for the vote. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive.

Forty  prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s  blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’

(Lucy  Burns) They beat  Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.

(Dora  Lewis)  They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head
against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her  cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart  attack.

Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating,
choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the  women.

Thus  unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there  because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.

For weeks,  the women’s only water came from an open pail.  Their food
—all  of it colorless slop—was infested with worms.

(Alice  Paul) When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

So, refresh my memory, some women won’t vote this year because why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn’t matter? It’s raining?

(Mrs. Pauline Adams in the prison garb she wore while serving a sixty-day sentence.)

Last  week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO’s new movie Iron Jawed Angels.’ It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say.

I am ashamed to say I needed the  reminder.

(Miss Edith Ainge, of Jamestown, New York  ) All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.

(Berthe Arnold, CSU graduate) My friend Wendy, who is my age
and studied women’s  history, saw the HBO movie, too. When she stopped by my desk to talk about it, she looked angry. She was – with herself.

‘One  thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie,’ she said.  ‘What would those women think of the way I use, or don’t use, my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.’  The right to vote, she said, had
become valuable to her ‘all over again.’

HBO released the movie on video and DVD. I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum I want it shown on Bunco night, too, and anywhere else women gather. I realize this isn’t our usual idea of  socializing, but we are not
voting in the numbers that we should be, and I  think a little shock therapy is in order.

(Conferring over ratification of the 19th Amendment to the  U.S. Constitution
at National Woman’s Party headquarters, Jackson Place, Washington , D.C. L-R Mrs. Lawrence Lewis, Mrs. Abby Scott Baker, Anita Pollitzer, Alice Paul, Florence Boeckel, Mabel Vernon (standing, right))

It was  jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to  persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that  she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is  inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn’t make her  crazy. The  doctor admonished the men: ‘Courage in women is often mistaken  for insanity.’

(Helena  Hill Weed, Norwalk , Conn. Serving 3 day sentence in D.C. prison for carrying banner, ‘Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the  governed.’)

If you are  so inclined, pass this on to all the women you  know.  We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party – remember to vote.
