Omnibus bill is a pork filled BUST – take action NOW!!

Over $8 Billion in PORK in the latest OmniBUST bill

 
The Senate has had months to pass a new Omnibus bill for FY 2011.  They decided to wait until the very last minute to shove yet another pork laden bill through.  They are pulling the same shenanigans as they did last year around Christmas with Obamacare.
 
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
 
We didn’t vote in record numbers on November 2nd just for the hell of it.  Apparently our message wasn’t loud OR clear.  We cannot afford the over $1 TRILLION Omnibus bill.  It is yet another bill that will BUST the deficit!
 
Here are a few examples of the outrageous pork in the OmniBUST bill:
 

$277,000 for potato pest management in Wisconsin

$246,000 for bovine tuberculosis in Michigan and Minnesota 

$522,000 for cranberry and blueberry disease and breeding in New Jersey 

$500,000 for oyster safety in Florida

$349,000 for swine waste management in North Carolina

$413,000 for peanut research in Alabama

$247,000 for virus free wine grapes in Washington

$208,000 beaver management in North Carolina

$94,000 for blackbird management in Louisiana

$165,000 for maple syrup research in Vermont

$235,000 for noxious weed management in Nevada

$100,000 for the Edgar Allen Poe Cottage Visitor’s Center in New York 

$300,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society in Hawaii

$400,000 for solar parking canopies and plug-in electric stations in Kansas

Those are just a FEW of the thousands of pork that BOTH Democrats and Republicans have inserted into the bill. 

This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!  There is no need to vote on anything other than a continuing resolution that keeps the government running through the end of January.  This OmniBUST bill goes through the Fiscal Year end of September 2011.

Did that really just happen?

I’d say it’s pretty normal for a sitting President to call upon a former President for advice. I’d expect it happens during most presidencies. However, how often does a sitting President have the former President take his place at the White House podium to speak and answer questions from the press? I dare say I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen before (I could be wrong… please do share if I am).

Obama came out today after getting advice from former President Bill Clinton and had Clinton actually speak at the White House podium. Clinton spoke in support of the lame Tax Cut Deal that Obama made with Republicans (honestly who really cares what Bill ‘I did not have sexual relations with that woman’ Clinton says?). I’m not sure who he was trying to garner support from exactly – Democrats or Americans?? What happened after a few minutes of Clinton speaking (which itself is odd) was even more bizarre – Obama said he had to go because he had already kept the First Lady waiting for half an hour… and he left Clinton there still speaking and answering questions from the press. Say what???????

I believe there was a collective – ‘Did that really just happen?’ – heard across the country.   I realize Michelle Obama is probably very demanding (what women aren’t when being made to wait) but when Obama is already in the midst of embarrassing himself by having Clinton speak on his behalf  he then actually leaves, further embarrassing himself.  Was this planned so it’ll be all the buzz or is Obama really that clueless?   As a President, Clinton was embarrassing as it was thanks to his ‘Lewinksy moment’ but does Obama not realize that he looked like a desperate shill having Clinton ‘fight his battles’?  To then leave Clinton there speaking just takes the cake.  Add this one to the Obama White House circus file.
